Bike fitting is unregulated — anyone can call themselves a fitter. The International Bike Fitting Institute is the industry body that actually certifies competence, and Level 2 requires demonstrated clinical and fitting capability, not a weekend course.
Combined with a Masters of Physiotherapy, it means the person adjusting your position also understands the anatomy underneath it.

Almost every bad fit comes from getting this order wrong — chasing an aero position the rider can't hold, or chasing power through a position that hurts.
Principle 01
If your position isn't comfortable then you're likely in a position of dysfunction. That leads to injury, or at best an un-enjoyable ride. Comfort isn't the soft option — it's the foundation everything else sits on.
Principle 02
Once you're comfortable, we position you to produce power efficiently. A comfortable rider is very often a faster rider, because nothing is wasted bracing against a position that doesn't fit.

Then we go aero — without giving up the first two. An uncomfortable aero position gets abandoned mid-ride, and an inefficient one costs more watts than it saves.

On a traditional fit, the bike is fixed and every adjustment means stopping, getting off, moving a component, and getting back on. You're comparing a position you rode ten minutes ago against one you're riding now, from memory.
On the Vertex Fit Cycle you remain stationary and the contact points move around you. Saddle height, setback, reach and drop change while you keep pedalling — so the comparison is immediate and you can feel the difference rather than recall it.
Once the position is right, the numbers transfer to your own bike, and we confirm the fit there.

A bike fit should leave you more comfortable, more efficient, and better able to ride the way you want to ride. If it doesn't, I haven't done my job.

Can a bike fit fix my knee pain?
Often, yes. Knee, lower back, neck and hand pain that appears at a predictable point in every ride is usually a position problem rather than an injury. Because your fitter here is also a Masters-qualified physiotherapist, if there is a genuine physical restriction underneath it can be treated rather than designed around.
Do I need a bike fit if nothing hurts?
Position is the cheapest speed available on a bike — cheaper than wheels, and it transfers to every bike and every event. A fit is also worth doing after a new frame, a change in the kind of riding you do, or a return from injury or a long break.
Should the fit be comfortable or aerodynamic?
Both, in that order. An aero position you cannot hold is not an aero position — riders abandon it mid-event and spend most of the ride worse off than a slightly higher position they can sustain. Comfort, then efficiency, then aerodynamics.
Do you fit road, TT, gravel and mountain bikes?
Yes. The Vertex Fit Cycle adjusts across riding positions, and the fit is built around the discipline you actually ride and the events you are training for.
How do I know the aero part of my fit actually works?
You measure it. Aero testing validates the aero third of your fit with real-world CdA numbers from the Aerosensor system, measured outdoors in real air rather than predicted from photographs, so the fastest position is confirmed rather than assumed.
What happens after the fit?
The position transfers to your own bike and is confirmed there. If something is not right afterwards, come back and it gets sorted — a fit should leave you more comfortable and more efficient, and if it has not, the job is not finished.
Real terrain is minutes from the door, so you can ride the new position the same day.
